Paharias demonstrate for separate "Ang Pradesh"
Dumka, Feb 12 (UNI) The Paharias, a primitive tribe of Jharkhand, from all over Santhal Parganas today took out a procession in support of their 27-fold demands including formation of ''Ang Pradesh'' by combinning the areas of Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand and Bhagalpur of Bihar.The procession, organised under the ageis of 'Adim Janjati Jagriti and Vikas Samiti' sat down in a dharna near the commissioner's office.
A memorandum addressing the President of India was also submitted to the Santhal Pargana Commissioner by the president of the organisation Kali Charan Dehri.
The 27-fold memorandum also contained the demands including reconstitution of Damin-e-koh Paharia Autonomous Council, reservation to the primitive tribe in Judiciary, appointment of Paharia male and female in government jobs and formation of Paharia Battalion.

Kya bat hamare sarkar ko primitibe tribe ke name pata hai ki nahi kon sa caste primitibe trive aata hai ye v pata nahi hoga hoga v to wo nahi chahta ki jharkhand ka jitna aadim jan jati hai unhe aage badne nahi diya jay. ishliye aaj tak jharkhand k koy v UNIVERCITY me EK v hostel nahi banway hai primitibe tribe k liye kyunki wo nahi chate hai ki ham garib aadim jan jati metric tak hi padh paye usse aage nahi padhe unhen pata hai koy subidha mil jayga to sahar me rahkar padhay karega aur aage badh jayega. eska ek hi karna jharkhand ek aadiwasi state hai lekin ye aadiwasiyon me sabse garibe primitibe tribe ko sirf Metric tak padhay karne k liye hostel hai. lekin aage k padhay nahi ho eshliye koy v hostel aaj tak nahi bana hai |

Paharias rally for territory
Dumka, Feb. 12: The streets of Dumka today brimmed with roaring Paharias who paraded down the main thoroughfare with slogans demanding an “Anga Pradesh” — a new territory comprising Santhal Pargana and Bhagalpur in neighbouring Bihar.
Traffic came to a grinding halt and stupefied pedestrians lined up along the streets as the tribal men under the aegis of the Adim Janjati Jagriti Evam Vikas Samiti rent the air with anti-government slogans.
The event was a follow-up of their demands scripted during their 12th convention, which started yesterday on the occasion of the 257th birth anniversary Tilka Manjhi. The Paharias also demanded that Santhal Pargana be renamed as “Paharia Santhal Pargana” that the local administration should remove a plaque that states Manjhi as a Santhal. “Tilka Manjhi, whose original name was Jobra Paharia, was not a Santhal by birth. He belonged to the Paharia community,” said Kali Charan Deheri, the president of the body.
Later, a 26-point charter of demands addressed to the President of India was handed over to the divisional commissioner by the Paharias, where they urged the government to arrange a separate reservation status for them.
